OUR STORY

Once upon a time there was a little girl named Monika.  She lived in Warsaw, Poland, at a moment in time when stores were empty and material things were scarce.  Fortunately, Monika loved making things.  She fashioned bows and arrows from sticks and feathers and string.  She made puppets which starred in elaborate plays.  She converted bookcases into doll houses.  Her dolls were the best dressed in the neighborhood.  Her imagination ran wild, her hands turned her ideas into reality, and she never wanted for anything.

That little girl came to America, grew up, and had children.  As a mom, she wanted her kids to also experience the joys of her childhood, like the delight of making your own fun, and the pride of wearing a sweater made by hand.  So, she made things with them, she made things for them, she made things for friends, and friends of friends, and then perfect strangers, and soon, KID things was born.

KID things is a children’s brand founded by designer and fiber artist Monika Briggs.  To this day, Monika has not run out of ideas.  She is inspired by the simple beauty of the world all around, and the boundless creativity of her own children.

Since 2011, Monika has been shipping apparel, accessories, and toys to children throughout the United States and the world.  She likes to think of each package as a little parcel of JOY!
